Stryker Welding was enlisted by a local school to fabricate an aluminum press box for its gym. We fabricated the unit so it could fit through double walk-in doors, and then be assembled and installed on-site. It was placed in an area where it wouldn't cause problems for the fans in the bleachers.


There were no prints or plans to go by, and we were given the artistic freedom to come up with a durable and economical design. The main framing is 6061 aluminum beam and tubing, with other supports made of steel. To help keep the cost down, we used salvaged steps from a former location within the school.
